Suggested parking locations:
• Hartley Road itself has no parking but is the access to the two lots
at Hale School. The road will close at about 8:50 for the children’s
race and possibly reopen briefly after the children’s race if
spots become available. At 9:50 Hartley Road will close for the final
time and remain closed until after the 5K.
• Center School is the closest off-site lot. Walk through the woods
to Hale if you wish.
• Whitney Street, south of Route 117 between Pompositicut School and
Packard Rd. is a quiet street offering on-street parking.
• Pompositicut School (on Route 117) is the first lot approaching from
the west.
• Boxmill Road (off Route 62) is fairly close.

On May 16, 2010 SCT will hold its 11th Anniversary Run for the Woods
5K Run/Walk and One Mile Children’s Race. The gently rolling 5K
course winds through beautiful back roads of Stow with scenic views of
One Stack Farm, Shelburne Farms and Pilot Grove Farm before heading up
the Hartley Road (Hale Middle School) incline to the finish. This USA
Track and Field sanctioned and professionally timed athletic event is
a fun opportunity for individuals and families to get together to raise
awareness and show support for land conservation. New last year – roads
will be closed to through traffic.
The One Mile Children’s Race, a non-competitive event, starts at
9:00am followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 10:00am. Parents may run along
side their children in the One Mile race free of charge. Please pre-register
your child to secure a race t-shirt and a finishing ribbon.
