Fall Activities
Oct 5: First Sunday of the month hike at Marble Hill - meet at Pompositticut School parking lot, 2 pm
October 18: SCT Volunteers will gather at the Leggett property at 9:00 to clear a trail around the property.
All interested people are welcome and needed to accomplish the work.
Bring clippers, loppers, saws, or any other tool of your choice. Many
hands will make for light
work and
we will create comfortable new access to this special woodland retreat.|
October 19: A photographic tour with Paul Trunfio. Get your camera ready and watch for information in the Stow Independent.

In partnership with the Stow Conservation Trust (SCT), we invite you to explore
the recently-extended Town of Stow’s Emerald Necklace, which includes the
Stow Town Forest, Heath Hen Woodlands, Flagg Hill Conservation Area, the Captain
Sargent Land, and a new section through Red Acre Woodland. This walk will cover
approximately 10 miles, 3⁄4 of it on trails, the balance on roads linking
the trails.
**Please bring plenty of water, snacks and a lunch, bug and weather protection,
and wear sturdy, comfortable hiking boots. This hike will take place rain or
shine. **
Meet in the parking lot at Gardner Hill Town Forest, at the end of Bradley Lane
in Stow, on the south side of Routes 117 and 62.
Fee: SVT and SCT Members and Stow Residents: Free; Non-members and Non-Stow residents:
$5.
November 1: The SCT Annual Meeting at the Town Hall.
Bring your favorite dish to share at the potluck. Find out about this year's

Bike for the Woods

The seventh annual
road bicycle ride is taking place Aug 24, 2008. It is a fundraiser for
the Stow Conservation Trust which promotes the
protection of open space in Stow. Food and drink are
provided and you get to choose from ride lengths
varying from 2 all the way up to 64 miles.
