Leggett Woodland - Invasive Plant Pull

We will begin our 4th year of invasive plant work at Leggett. Great progress has been made. Some small and easy-to-pull plants remain.

About the event

This will be a work day to pull invasives at Leggett Woodland.

This will be the 4th year for Leggett Woodland along the Blue Trail.  When we began this area of work, the prediction was that it would take up to 4 years;  hopefully this area will reach a status of "Under Control" that we have achieved at SCT Fieldstone Parcel.  Much of what is still growing is pencil-thin and easy to pull.

  • Saturday 29-April-2023, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m
  • Leggett Woodand  Park in parking area along Whitman Street.
  • (no tools required - perhaps a shove and loppers across the group)
  • Wear work boots, strong gloves and recommend long pants/sleeves.

The area along the Blue Trail has Oriental Bittersweet, originally in Medium/High Density and lower densities of Barberry, Multiflora Rose, Burning Bush, and Glossy Buckthorn.  The site has had Garlic Mustard but this has seen good control progress.

We have had rain,  so the area will be more wet than earlier this month.
