Planned Giving
The conservation actions of the Stow Conservation Trust provide so many
benefits to people and wildlife in Stow, including well-maintained trails and
greenspaces for passive recreation and experiencing nature first-hand;
receiving the now well-documented wide array of health benefits humans
receive from nature; reducing the impacts of climate change, preserving and
enhancing biological diversity; continued access to healthy, locally grown food;
cleaner air and water; more peace and quiet; and darker night skies. That
acknowledged, fulfilling the promise of conservation in perpetuity is one of the
very few activities where continued support will be needed literally forever.
Increasingly, people are choosing to provide financial support to conservation
charities like the Stow Conservation Trust (SCT) as part of their Estate estate
Planning planning – specifically via their wills Wills – either by specifying a
percentage of the remaining balance of your their estate of or trust, or
identifying a specific amount.
This is precisely what a forward-thinking longtime Stow resident
did recently. They included SCT in their will Will – resulting in
$20,000 in critically-needed support coming to our organization
following their passing in 2024. That bold action helped create a truly
powerful legacy for them, while also facilitating increasingly impactful
conservation actions by SCT that will benefit our community for generations
yet to come.
If you are considering including SCT in your estate planning, we recommend
that you first contact an estate planning attorney or financial advisor. If you
