Stew Crew work day at Fieldstone Property

• Fieldstone Parcel   (located at the end of Fieldstone Drive)
  • Fieldstone Drive is a short cul-de-sac located off of Taylor Road not far from Eliot Drive.
  • Park in grassy parking area and otherwise so as to not block the road
• Work will be some light invasive work and a tour of ongoing forestry work.
• Tools:  Gloves and outdoor clothing.   (Area is dry - no mud).

Invasive work has been ongoing for 5 years.   Two areas to work are revisits to past work.  What is coming up are Oriental Bittersweet strands thinner than a pencil.  Two areas show perhaps 100 small plants - need hands to pull.   One area is new - this is along the Stow-Boxborough town line where an unexpected presence of Burning Bush was located in 2021.

A forestry project has been ongoing since 2019.  This is a forest thinning project and a pilot program to manage the forest.   Thinning of some too-dense trees was done, with an aim to allow more sunlight to the ground and encourage remaining trees to be stronger and more resilient.
